If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My father-in-law was in their care recently due to leg pain, and to say this place is not up to code is an understatement. The patient-to-nurse ratio was way off, and it showed. When my father-in-law asked for his medication, he waited over 14 hours to receive it, even though it was already time for his dose. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My father-in-law was in their care recently due to leg pain, and to say this place is not up to code is an understatement. I want to share what he experienced, because families deserve to know what they may be walking into. The staffing situation was a serious problem. The patient-to-nurse ratio was way off, and it showed. When my father-in-law asked for his medication, he waited over 14 hours to receive it, even though it was already time for his dose. When someone has an urgent need, that kind of wait stops being an inconvenience and becomes a safety issue. Speaking of safety, my father-in-law has COPD and asked for a rescue inhaler. Instead of providing the one that was actually prescribed to him, staff handed him another patient's inhaler to use. That is not only unsanitary, it is a violation of state health code. Full stop. Getting in touch with anyone at this facility was nearly impossible. I called the nursing station twice a day to check in and keep the family updated, and I could not get anyone to pick up the phone. I had to go directly to the Director of Nursing on multiple occasions just to get basic updates on his condition. That should never be the only way a family can stay informed. The cleanliness of the facility was another concern. On more than one occasion, his roommate left the shared bathroom in a terrible state, and rather than sending housekeeping in to address it, staff left it that way until the next morning's day shift. This meant my father-in-law had no access to the restroom in his own room and came very close to having an accident because of it. Finally, the attitude of some night shift staff left a lot to be desired. One night he slept through dinner because of a COPD episode. When he woke up hungry and asked for something to eat, they brought him a peanut butter sandwich at 2 am, which the CNA slammed onto the table in front of him and said, "Here is your dang sandwich." He is a patient recovering from a serious health event. He deserved better than that. If you are considering placing a loved one here, please think carefully. I have already called the state on them and reported them.
The patients have no phones in their rooms not sure what is up with that I had the nurses tell me the yellow light was ok and normal for the oxygen generation machine this is what I seen first hand sticky flours in my mom's room and threatened my mom with my arrest to keep me from checking on her I will not return to the business no one should be treated like that people yelling for help and no one blinked a eye even when I told them someone was yelling for help ireqested a phone for my mom's room 3 different times and was told they would bring her to the phone
Please for the love of GOD read this review. Since the new administrator has taken over there have been many many changes that are jeopardizing the welfare of the residents. Please please don’t leave your family member here. He has made so many “budget cuts” and staffing changes it is dangerous for a person that has any sort of complex issues at risk. More than a few people have died there recently due to negligence. He has cut the staff to 2 nurses at night for approximately 80 patients. And I don’t mean long term patients either. They are skilled patients that need a lot of care more than 1 nurse can adequately accommodate. For instance a trach patient, and very few of the nurses there have any sort of education with or have never cared for a trach patient before. These issues have come up and swept under the rug. People are DYING!!! Due to nurses not having enough time to evaluate residents when a problem arises. 4 people have died in the last 2 months from neglect who would probably not have died if they had been properly treated before it was too late. The CNA’s work short EVERY day and are told “that’s just the way it’s going to be.” Staff has begged for the necessary equipment to do their jobs and it falls on deaf ears. The new administrator Jayson only cares about the money. He never interacts with the residents or the staff for that matter. This is not a revenge post as some may believe. It is a post to try and warn people that may be considering placing a family member here. If you really love and care for your family DONOT consider The Waters. And if you currently have family there now consider getting them out! Infiniti Healthcare sent Jayson there to turn the profit around and he is taking it very seriously at the expense of keeping the residents safe. The building is falling apart and they are hanging pictures, putting furniture in front of holes and cobbling up MAJOR electrical issues that put residents at risk when the generator wouldn’t work properly. Half the outlets don’t work. Residents are going hours without necessary oxygen or breathing machines without knowing. The building is held together by duct tape and a prayer, but boy is that bottom line looking good!
Very impressed with the compassionate management and nursing team here.
Great place with fantastic staff.
The staff was friendly for the most but over all care including discharge horrible was sent home in one to walk meds was messed up on discharge sit in your bowel and bring for hours waiting to be be changed if you care anything about your loved ones do not send thembto waters
HOPEFULLY THIS ISN'T YOUR ONLY OPTION!!!! If I could give ZERO stars, I would. As a nurse myself, I was appalled. First, let's discuss the nursing staff. Management, none to speak of and they conver one another's hind ends when called out. The CNA's are few and far between on the compassion scale! There's also a staffing issue. The nurses station is nothing more than a place to congregate and gossip or sit on their phones on Facebook or tiktok. If you think hipaa rules are followed, think again! My dad was not taken to any therapies in the way the doctor ordered them, and was also done half way! His clothing, cell phone, and hearing aids disappearing on a regular basis! I went to visit to find him in a wheelchair by the nurses station, in WOMEN'S CAPRI PANTS, uncovered and cold, slumped over, and no one paying attention to him or talking to him at all. This includes the hallways lined with other residents calling out for help or smelling of BM or urine. When approached with the issues, (as I was LIVID) Sam and a nurse tried to blame others. NOT ACCEPTABLE! The food, oh good Lord... If I could imagine jailhouse food, I'd imagine they're quite similar. Dad was moved 2x, his rolling walker he paid cash for, was "loaned" to another resident, he was forever in a dirty adult incontinence diaper, hardly ever had fresh water, or clean clothing on, and overall declined RAPIDLY!! He is now on Hospice and bed bound in our home. Had the proper physician ordered therapies been met, 'perhaps' he could still stand or minimally, pivot himself to assist in transfers. No pointing of fingers as to say that he'd NEVER end up in this condition; but I truly believe that minimal care was given. I witnessed this with my own eyes. As a previous administrator of a skilled facility, it was nauseating. His cell phone was replaced, but his $699 hearing aids were 'lost in laundry' or 'another resident grabbed them'. Again, unacceptable. The clique' at the nurses station having cackling sessions and poking fun at their residents was a disgusting display as to WHY NOT TO BE IN THE MEDICAL FIELD!! PERIOD!! Doing at-home care is tremendously taxing. But so is having to worry constantly about your loved one when they're supposed to be receiving the best care possible in your absence. The building is in poor condition as well and needs a complete overhaul. I'm actually shocked that the State hasn't been out due to blatant hazards. Unimpressed with everyone there except the social worker and activities person. My Dad called as often as he could before his cell phone mysteriously took a walk, asking regularly to "get him out of there". This man is and was 100% lucid and not at all a liar or exaggerator. That alone should tell future resident families what they have the right to know. Our experience was terrible and it was disheartening to say the least. He was at another facility for a short time after this (while lining up an at home care aide through and getting insurance stuff squared away) and they were exceptional in comparison. Do your homework and advocate for your loved one or someone else's. Your voice matters.
