I would highly recommend this facility. My husband is in here. It is very clean. Everyone has been so helpful and kind. Therapy has been so great. Our first experience in a rehab facility and it has been a good experience. So pleased with services. They have been great with his care given.
My dad is a resident here and this is the BEST nursing home!!! When I go in the building I am greeted! Debbie and Jennifer are always greeting me with smiling faces! Very clean and very caring staff. Thank you!
Our family has had a very unique situation with my brother, who has cerebral palsy and, in many ways, is like a child in an adult body. Moving into a long-term care facility was a major life change for him after previously living with our grandmother until she was suddenly hospitalized for several weeks and later passed away. Because of both his mental and physical needs, this transition has not been easy. The team at Life Care of Jefferson City has worked with him patiently and compassionately over the past several months to help him adjust. They have handled not only his daily care needs, but also some behavioral challenges that resulted from such a difficult and emotional change in his life. Their willingness to be understanding and patient has meant a great deal to our family. I especially want to praise the admissions team (Jennifer and Debbie), social services (SiSi), Nursing Director (Dara), the nursing and aide staff, Unit Manager (Tara), the Administrator (Mandy), Activities (Eric), and many others. They have all communicated with me multiple times to better understand my brother and help find the best ways to care for him successfully. That level of communication and effort truly stands out. This is a transition that has been needed and anticipated for a long time. Over the past several years, I contacted numerous facilities knowing that the need for additional help and a new home for him would eventually come. When I first spoke with the admissions team about him, they asked me to send over some information. They then connected with his insurance care coordinator and worked for several weeks to obtain approval. In the beginning, our hope was that he would eventually return home with our grandmother. However, after her passing, he no longer had a home to return to. The facility has now become his home. I have prayed often about this transition and for solutions that would help meet his needs. I also continually pray for the staff who care for him because I know there have been times when the situation has been challenging, exhausting, and outside the norm. I know there is no perfect facility. Perfection was never what I was looking for, but in many ways, they come very close. Their willingness to care for someone who is not the typical nursing home resident has been remarkable. I have worked in the long-term care and senior care industry for many years, including at both the facility management and corporate levels for a skilled nursing company similar to Life Care. I understand that facilities like these are often underfunded and limited in staffing and resources. I have always believed that you can teach skills if you hire people with the right heart. The staff at Life Care of Jefferson City have done the best they can with the resources available to them. They have made accommodations and adjustments that I know are not typical, and so far, they have made it work. I attribute that to having a team that genuinely cares for people in need. I am thankful for a team that has continued to work with my brother, show him kindness, and provide care during a very difficult season of his life. Most of all, I want to say thank you for what you do. Serving people who depend on you for their quality of life is not just a job—it is a calling.
