Conscientious care for our 91 year old mother about to pass. All the staff from the front door greeting, admission office, business office, cafeteria and housekeeping not to mention all the wonderful CNA’s, and nurses went over and above what I’ve seen in the state where I live south of here. Everyone just seemed to be on standby for how they could help next. Wow!

Poor experience placed catheter in my husband and it wasn't even in his bladder. This set up infection and I removed him from there only after a few days. They didn't keep him clean either

I have a family member who has been there for 8 months. We had assumed he would receive thorough showers. For the first 10 weeks he received no showers despite asking daily. Today I found out that his shower consisted of a shampoo and shoulder wash. It was at that time that he had a towel tossed in his lap and was told he was done and to hurry. They get a 1 star only because I cant do negative number ratings

Everyone was very kind caring and helpful

My brother and I both think this is the best place for our mother to be. She is getting rehab services and long-term care after a major stroke. The food looks good and she likes it and getting awesome hair

Response to the company’s reply: I would love to reach someone by phone but it is impossible to reach anyone. Every extension says “this option is unavailable”. I’m beginning to wonder if my number is blocked. I can’t private message you. My late father went there for rehab on a temporary basis. This was the third and absolute worst facility I have seen. Not a permanent resident. Communication was extremely difficult, and I often had to push just to get basic information about my father’s condition. My dad was there for 5 days. On Friday (day one), he was stable. By Saturday, he became very confused and extremely jaundiced. I was immediately concerned and requested that he be sent to the ER. I was told they had in-house providers who could evaluate him and send him if needed. I called Sunday to check on him and could not reach anyone most of the day. When I finally got through that evening, I was told he had worsened but could not be seen because a doctor is not on-site daily and it would be Monday or Tuesday. I requested he be seen Monday morning. The nurse station rarely answered the phone. I was later told they attempted to call me once, but I never received a call or spoke with a provider. They never called any alternate contact despite having other phone numbers. It was not until Wednesday morning—after multiple follow-ups and another complaint Tuesday evening—that I finally spoke with a doctor about his condition. Also, not only were we never notified even of his arrival there but also we did not get notified that they put him on oxygen. He arrived in the 2pm hour. At dinner time, they told us they didn’t have a meal for him. I suppose if we had not came he would have just starved. They did not make any efforts to ensure he was eating properly the entire time. He could not even hold a cup to get a drink. During this time, his condition continued to decline. However, I had no problem being contacted by the business office. On Wednesday, I received multiple calls requesting over $4,000 by close of business that same day. When I explained I did not have that kind of money readily available, I was told I should consider selling his vehicles. That is not a realistic or reasonable expectation for any family in a crisis. The financial personnel told me no comfort measures to help him, such as palliative care or hospice could be done at all without them receiving the money that day. It was already the afternoon. When I arrived later in the day, he was laying in bed moaning in pain and said no one had addressed it all day. So, again requested that he be sent to the ER, I was discouraged and told he would likely just be sent back. When I insisted in person, I was repeatedly questioned and redirected, including being approached by a nurse practitioner who appeared to be trying to talk us out of it. His status was full code, they didn’t have a reason to deny that. We ultimately had to escalate the situation through the social worker before he was finally sent out for evaluation. When he was finally transferred, the ER found that he was dehydrated, his blood pressure was critically low, he had an infection and had to be given IV antibiotics and IV blood pressure medicine. Within an hour, he became verbal and was able to tell them his wishes- to be made comfortable. He passed away. Before and after the ER, I have attempted multiple times to speak with the facility administrator regarding these concerns. I was repeatedly told they were unavailable and was not provided with a clear time they would return or an alternative contact. It was extremely difficult to find anyone willing to address concerns or take accountability. Families rely on facilities like this during critical moments. In our case, there was a serious delay in medical evaluation, poor communication, and a clear priority placed on financial demands over patient care. I strongly recommend others ask detailed questions about physician availability, response times, escalation procedures, and administrative accessibility before choosing this facility.

My husband is a resident at H.R.&C He is happy, content, well cared for and safe. That's all I wanted for him, plus he is in the company of other veterans.

Patient has complaints about the food especially breakfast. He really likes the window beside his bed.
