4.6 · 47 reviewsI had to continually monitor whether my mom was being bathed. Many times I had to remind them . The lady that bathed her was very unfriendly and rough. It seemed she was always bothered if my mom needed help. I don't understand that because that is why she was there. The activity lady was awesome and very friendly. She is the chief attraction.
The people at Southern Oaks Assisted Living were nice. The manager was nice and very informative. The room was tiny, maybe because of the price range that we're looking at. The upkeep was pretty good. It was lunchtime, so they were all dining. The staff was nice. I don't have anything negative to say about it. The dining area was good enough for the number of people that they have. They're a lot smaller than the other place, but the upkeep was good.
The staff is genuinely caring and concerned for the residents! It gives family members a piece of mind, knowing their loved ones are being well taken care of. The activity director is very lively and engaging… They provide flower arrangements for each of the residents due to donated flowers from various places around Chattanooga.

The staff was friendly & they made my mother feel comfortable.
My mother seems happy there. That matters most. She'd let us know if anything wasn't right. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Southern Oaks Assisted Living community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.
My tour of Southern Oaks Assisted Living was great. However, I don't know whether it would be a fit for my husband. I think the people living there are a little older than my husband. My husband likes it, so that's the only thing. I want to get a sense of how he would mix with them. My husband blends in well and he thought it was fine. The price is a little cheaper. The dining area was fine. It had a feeling of home. The staff who gave the tour was great. She explained everything well. She told us about all the activities they do and things of that nature.
Southern Oaks Assisted Living was spotless. The residents we encountered seemed to be happy and well cared for. The staff seemed attentive. It was a very nice facility. My only real complaint was the distance from where we live, which would make it a little harder for us to check up on our folks. I didn't see anything that concerned me. They had a courtyard, a library, a TV room, and a game room with some games and puzzles.
I was greeted by a very enthusiastic staff member who was obviously sold on the facility. She gave me a tour past the dining room where folks were eating. The food smelled good. The sample room she showed me was a nice size. The courtyard was a definite plus! Activities include music ( a choir), reading (small developing library), puzzles, daily exercises, games, etc. The price point was very fair and was all inclusive. There was a very welcoming spirit and I would definitely consider this option for my parent when needed.
