My husband’s grandmother currently resides in their memory care facility and the assisted living section briefly before this. The attention and care that all of the staff here has given to us as family and her as a resident is unmatched. They are amazing people doing thankless work and we are so fortunate for the care they provide. They are so patient with us as family members as well.

Kayce Graham is an exceptional Activities Director, who truly goes above and beyond for the residents. Her kindness, patience, creativity, and genuine compassion are evident in everything she does. She creates engaging activities that not only keep residents active and involved, but also make them feel valued, included and cared for. She brings such positive energy to the facility and works hard to create meaningful experiences for both residents and their families. It’s clear that she has a true passion for what she does and it makes a tremendous difference in the lives of those around her.

Morning Pointe of Powell cared for my Mom until her death. I am forever indebted to them for her care and their support of me as I cared for her. I was on a learning curve for Assisted Living facilities, how they operate, state regulations…. Morning Pointe’s staff worked with me and always had open communication. We worked through issues together. Most importantly for me, the staff in general and the nursing staff especially would make time for me and my concerns. As Mom’s health failed and hospice was called in the nursing staff was a thousand percent available to answer my questions and concerns, pausing their day to listen and support. This is an amazing plus for resident families because the nursing staff and resident assistants have very demanding jobs with multiple residents to care for who all have varying medical and physical needs. Every staff member from Executive, Operations, Receptionists, Activities, Maintenance, Food Services (food is great!), Residence Assistants are willing to help and support. Caring for an elderly parent can be very stressful for family. In my situation I was confronted with very complex medical issues that could be confusing and overwhelming. Morning Pointe of Powell lessened the burden for me and having that support was everything.

Toured the facility looking for a place for my parent. Came in during one of the activities and was thrilled to see the compassion shown to the residents involved in the activity. Kayce was so kind and considerate to them. It made me feel so relieved to know she might be somewhere that would love and respect her like that. Good job Morning Pointe and good job Enrichment Director Kayce.

I’ve had a great experience working with this community as a partner to my business. Special shoutout to employees Kayce and Kay as they have been incredible partners to me and have been so enjoyable to work with!

Dad has only been here a month but the staff has been supportive of me and my sisters. He is being taken care of which has been our main concern. I have no complaints at all at this time.

This is a wonderful place full of caring and compassionate people. It is always clean and feels comfortable. There is a sense of community because of the wonderful activities that they do every day.

I have always been and will always be against placing loved ones in assisted living or nursing homes. I did not place a loved one here. Sometimes I think silence is more powerful than words but in the interest of those that may be spared from this place I will respond. Morning Pointe responded to my one star review by making this statement: “We are unable to identify an experience related to this review” so I will help them. When my loved one was placed here we were not allowed to visit for a bit so that she could get settled. Why it seems logical to not allow family to visit a confused and sad loved one struggling with dementia during a huge life change to comfort them is incomprehensible. When I tried to go visit I was turned down. Then my family received a phone call falsely accusing me of trying to remove her from the nursing home behind their backs as if I was going to “sneak her out.” That false accusation has led to conflict within our family to this very moment although my loved one has now relocated to Heaven. I sat with her for endless days and hours at Morning Pointe as she slowly left us and was so depressed in this place she could hardly function. It’s like a prison. All she could do was walk the hallways in a circle endlessly. She cried often while she was at Morning Pointe. She also communicated how badly she wanted to leave and how miserable she was to me on several occasions. I saw her health decline as she lost hope. The residents barely get any stimulation. The few times they got any stimulation apart from those that could get PT was when they would bop a balloon back and forth in a group. It didn’t happen often and the ones that took part were the ones that could articulate an interest in doing so. The activities that were planned and posted were almost never followed. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I sat there after looking forward to seeing the residents enjoy an activity that never happened. The family nights look lively and fun but make no mistake. That’s the only time it was that way. The residents have a way to request help from their rooms but the “pagers” go off constantly and sometimes it took a long while for them to get to their rooms and check on them. I’ve seen days where the same resident sat in the same wheelchair at the same spot all day long only being acknowledged when it was time for them to take their medication. It’s heartbreaking to see the residents want to go out the doors when they open or when their loved ones leave after a visit. My loved one also fell at this place and didn’t recover. I would encourage everyone to think about their choices and proceed with extreme caution. Placing a loved one into a place like this is not a guarantee of safety. A cute photo on social media is almost never reality. At the end of the day we will all reap what we sow. Remember that it’s all fine and well when we have the upper hand over either those that are growing up or those that are aging and need us but it never lasts. That upper hand is temporary. Eventually our children get the upper hand over us then their children over them. If there is no other way but to place a loved one in a facility choose wisely but try to avoid it at all costs and remember that karma is real.
