I visited a friend there today and I absolutely would never allow my family members to stay there!!!!!! First of all there’s no railings on the beds!! The nurse only brought her half of her medication and thankfully she was able to let the nurse know it wasn’t all of it!!! The rooms are nowhere near big enough for 2 patients!!!!!!!!!! My friend has to freeze all day and stay awake all night to pacify the roommate!!!! They refuse to give her enough pillows to prop her broken foot up on😡😡 and the food is horrible! We already googled the numbers to file a complaint to Nashville 😡😡😡😡😡😡….,
This is one of the nastiest places I've ever been in. And the nursing staff is so rude. I witnessed a CNA eating a patient food while she watched and then requested a snack for the lady from the kitchen. It's a good thing the kitchen people can at least cook or those ppl would be no better than roaches
I stayed at Diversicare for 8 weeks from late April 2022 to early June 2022. The food was better thsn expected as was the care from nursing assistants, physical and occupational therapists. The only problem we had was my family had difficulty getting answers from mgmnt. My daughter would call, get put on hold, repeatedly. She'd leave messages for someone to call her, but she never heard back. As a patient, I could look over the issues because the staff that dealt with me was so friendly, helpful, efficient, and cheerful. I enjoyed my stay and improved my mobility. As a patient, I could look over the issues because the staff that dealt with me was so friendly, helpful, efficient, and cheerful. I enjoyed my stay and improved my mobility. They kept a close eye on keeping me clean since I was unable to go to the bathroom. I was treated with respect. In a recent review, I read there had been a change in management which was our only problem area. I may need rehab again soon. If so, I hope there's an empty bed waiting for me. The idea of going to a strange place worries me. I hope I can return to Diversicare if needed. This review is long overdue. I should have written this in 2022. Thank you.
I would recommend that anyone looking for a skilled nursing facility look elsewhere. My mother was discharged to diversacare because she needed skilled nursing after a month long stay in the hospital. I don't feel that my mother got much skilled nursing during her stay here This place is LOUD. Imagine every TV in the place on max volume and on a different channel just making a grating cacophony of noise. You can't escape from it. If your tv is not on when an attendant comes into the room, they will assume it was off by mistake and put it on for you. Repeatedly. On max volume. My mothers tv did not have a remote so she'd have to wait for a visitor to turn it off on the unit. It is hard to have a conversation anywhere in this facility due to the noise level. And it is CROWDED. My mother was first admitted to a double room. There is a curtain down the middle of the room for privacy. Between that curtain and the wall is enough room for a single bed and a small bedside table. Other than that it is just curtain and wall. The staff brought my father a folding chair so he could sit with my mother but there was no room to put it. He had the dividing curtain draped over his back while he sat beside my mother. There is stuff piled everywhere in this facility. The hallways are lined with carts of medical supplies. Maybe there's nowhere else to store this? The overall feeling is CHAOS and DISORDER, with patients and supplies stuffed in wherever they will fit. But there doesn't seem to be much nursing staff. Multiple times I had to find someone to tend to my mother because they don't respond to room lights. Per the staff - they are always SHORTSTAFFED and this is made worse because people just don't show up for work. What this means for patients is that there is just not staff available to care for them or they will have to wait for their needs . My mother was put into a diaper on arrival but finding someone to change my mothers soiled diapers was near impossible. There was rarely anyone at the nurses station and when there was, they'd send me to find someone else. I was told by other visiting relatives that their family members were only getting changed once or twice a day. There was a psychiatrist that visited my mother during her stay. He recommended a sedative so she'd be more relaxed in the facility. From what I witnessed I bet this is common. In addition to all the stuff stored in the hallways, there were SEDATED patients everywhere. Like zombies in their wheelchairs in the hallways, just dull-eyed and zonked out amidst the carts of supplies. We'd planned on having my mom stay at skilled nursing for 3 weeks to prepare for her to come back home. After seeing what this version of skilled nursing actually is, we took her out of this facility after 3 days. During that time a bed sore that she left the hospital with got infected and her mental state declined dramatically. HELLSCAPE is the word I use most often to describe diversacare. I am grateful that we were able to get my mother out of there quickly and I feel terribly for the patients who are here with no other options.
Very clean facility and very friendly staff !
This place has been a Godsend for my uncle !! The staff are so kind, understanding and helpful in every way !! It’s clean and they take good care of things. His only complaint is the meal sizes, but his appetite is healthy too 😉 they usually try to accommodate him and fix a little something extra. Amanda in the business office is an angel and Angie the social worker ! Leah and Tanya the nurse staff I’ve communicated with are super helpful despite being busy bees. I can have Walmart deliver and door dash as well. It goes pretty well especially during the week when they are fully staffed. He loves bingo and his paper money ! I hope to hear of more spiritual experiences in the future, like church groups singing or teaching. He would love that. Getting over flu season will help some I’m sure. Thank you Diversacare staff for all you do for my sweet uncle !!
This place is disgusting. My Father-in-law was there for what was supposed to be 2 weeks and we pulled him out after 1 week. It smelled of human feces so bad when you went in it almost made you gag. They never gave him a shower until we requested it the day we were picking him up. No wonder it smells so bad there. He was there for rehab, but not once got to physically go to a rehab room for any type of treatment. We absolutely recommend going anywhere other then this place.
Diversicare of Oak Ridge has seen such a positive change with the new management team. They are caring, attentive, and truly dedicated to residents and their families. Dianna has been especially wonderful, helping families navigate the transition with compassion and support. It’s reassuring to know loved ones are in such good hands.
