No one will answer the phones there. If you call the nurses station, admissions, HR, business manager line...absolutely no one answers. I have called during business hours for over 2 weeks now and have not been able to get ONE person to answer.
I have been so pleased with my stay at Bolivar Health & Rehabilitation. The staff are very concerned & encouraging. I am so happy to say that I am making progress with PT with the goal of returning home as soon as possible. There are several that I wish I could call out for their exceptional work here. When I had to go back to the hospital for a week it was fine there, but I actually missed being at BH&R. I love that the facility smells clean when you walk in. I have met so many lovely residents that share their stories with me. We also have activities in the cafeteria daily. We sing, play…

I have met so many lovely residents that share their stories with me. We also have activities in the cafeteria daily. We sing, play games, do puzzles, have performers, & reminisce about the “good old days”! Everyone works hard and most everyone is very friendly. Thank you BH&R Staff!! They have worked with me on transport to Doctor appointments and worked with me to get a mobile transfusion company to come here & fill my Baclofen pump before it ran out, which no where else could do! ❤️ I was terrified but they came through for ME!! I highly recommend Bolivar Health & Rehab for you or your relatives.
Christian Care Center has been the absolute best place I have come across. No nursing home is perfect but this one is pretty dang close. I have toured several facilities and had different outcomes at each facility. Each facility has had its faults. Each facility has had good and bad reviews. I understand that you can not make everyone happy 100% of the time. Where ever you choose to place your loved one then it is up to you to advocate for them. Visit often and voice any concerns that you may have. If they are not addressed to your satisfaction then make it known. Overall it is your…
Christian Care Center has been the absolute best place I have come across. Overall it is your responsibility to ensure that your loved one is cared for. If you feel that your concerns are falling on deaf ears then move your loved one to a different facility. If you choose to leave them there then what happens to them is just as much your fault as it is the facility. What you should not do is bad mouth a facility that you chose to leave your loved one at if you didn't think they got the proper care they needed. Your loved one is your responsibility. I can not visit on a daily basis but I can promise you that my loved one is very well cared for at Christian Care of Bolivar. My loved one is thriving and I would not choose any other place for her. Overall 5 stars to Christian Care Center of Bolivar.
From the upper management to the staff, no care is given they are there to do the time and get paid. My dad was found on multiple occasions dirty and soiled while the staff was sleeping in other rooms or LOUDLY partying at the nursing station. I am not trained in the nursing field but, I am aware of manners and dignity these people have none. If you complain it only makes it worse on your loved ones they seemed to take out their anger on them. I would not put an animal in this place if given the opportunity again and due to insurance, location and "Christian Care" though it would be better bit it wasn't the case at all. In closing i just hope and pray that every staff member there receives the same treatment they gave my dad when they get to that age.
Had friends who were there and everyone who worked there made you feel like family. Great people work there
My mother has struggled with multiple chronic health conditions for a number of years and just before Christmas needed to receive PT and OT to get her strength back so she could go back home. She was very hesitant initially and I was afraid she would not give it a chance since she has always been so independent. The staff of Christian Care quickly won her over and provided her with exceptional care. She genuinely loved them and they seemed to equally love her. We are so grateful for the care and compassion she received and highly recommend them to others who may find themselves in similar circumstances. As a nurse and family member who has spent time in multiple facilities in our area I definitely consider Christian Care Center of Bolivar to be the best. I would forget people if I started trying to name off the special folks who loved on my mom as their own so I will just include them all. Top notch facility with top notch staff!
There really couldn’t be a better place to put your loved one! Everyone is like one big family! The therapy department is awesome and friendly. The first thing you notice when you walk in is how clean the facility is and not the typical appearance of a nursing home. All the residents appear to be happy and engaged with activities!
I enter the building and it was clean and pleasant. The staff was welcoming.. I looked for the perfect place to place my grandmother who had dementia. After placing her things changed. I would come to visit my grandmother almost every other day, only to find her wet and with the same clothing that was placed on her the days hospice would bathe her. Many of the days I would find breakfast food in her mouth and mid evens and in her bed and she was feeder.(meaning someone was to feed her). One even I came into her room and found feces on her lunch tray. As my grandmother continued to reside at Christian care things got worse. I started finding her on the floor in her room and all the staff would be located at nursing station sitting, talking and playing while my grandma would be on the floor for God knows how long. It got to the point one day I came to visit and my grandmother had a black eye and I wasn’t notified nor was hospice. She was given meds that wasn’t authorized by hospice and shortly after she passed away. The sad part is when I confronted them about the neglect of the staff and the black eye they never took accountability of the nonsense and the mistreatment of the patients that was put their hands. Christian care is just a beautiful building. They keep admitting, but do not have enough staff to take care of your love one.. I definitely met the representative first, because had I known this place was filled with deceit, I would have never placed my grandmothers in their care…for anyone to think this place is great must doesn’t visit their loved ones enough to see or encounter the neglect. Christian care is a death trap.
