Jill is absolutely wonderful. Every time I have reached out to her she is so sweet and knowledgeable. I would recommend you reach out for any questions you have when it comes to independent living, assisted living, and memory care. She is always a pleasure to work with!
I can not write a review about the facility as I have never visited or had a loved one here. I can definitely attest to the character of two staff members I met recently. On a Friday evening after 5 pm I came to Asbury Place as it was the closest business in my route. I am a delivery driver on my 2nd day on the job and my cell phone had completely died suddenly leaving me with no way to finish my route or contact someone for help. I stopped at the first office I came to and when I tried the door it was locked. As I started back to my car, Clarissa came to the door and asked if she could help…
As I started back to my car, Clarissa came to the door and asked if she could help me. I told her I was so sorry to bother her as I had just realized they were closed. She said it was no bother at all and asked how she could help. I just knew she was going to think it was crazy for a stranger to stop and ask to charge their phone especially after closing time on a Friday! Lol To my surprise she immediately invited me in and offered to charge my phone, gave me a cool place to sit in the waiting area and offered something to drink. She was so kind and sympathetic to my situation and told me not to worry as my phone would be charged and I'd be back in route in no time. Tammy came in and saved the day as well by providing me with a new plug and cord to fast charge my phone as we realized my cord was bad and not charging. She even insisted I take the charger with me so I was never stranded again with no way to charge my phone or call for help. They both stayed with me and made sure I had plenty of battery to continue charging in route before I left their office, and made sure there was nothing else I needed. They truly went above and beyond to help me. Without their assistance I could have lost my job for never showing up or have been left stranded with no way to call for help. I am so grateful for their kindness. I feel certain their community and it's residents and families here are in great hands with such kind and caring staff as Clarissa and Tammy. Thank you both for showing such kindness to a complete stranger when I needed it most.
No longer “Asbury” Now, The Waters of Maryville
This has been the best fit for my Senior mother. It is very up-to-date, clean, does not smell like urine, and very modern. There is always staff around sometimes even 2 staff members to give you updates on your loved one. My favorite is the hot food and the menu's given out every week with a choice of entrées.
The rooms are spacious enough and with the kitchenette, it seems more like home. I appreciate keeping a smaller amount of patients per building, as to having larger buildings with more patients in the larger buildings. We are happy with Asbury Place.
Our apartment has an awesome view of the "Smokies"! Also, we get a lot of sunlight in the apartment, which makes it cheerful. The Bistro is just across the street. We like the way the Campus is laid out. All the people are very friendly .
I cannot say enough good things about the care staff at Asbury Place Maryville. The CNAs and nurses are all top notch!! They are compassionate, efficient, and treat your loved one like family. Rating the care staff separately they would get a 5, although the facility was always short staffed. The administration on the other hand would get a 2 or a 3. Communication was terrible between the admin and hospice, admin and staff, and admin and family. The admissions person did not communicate information to the staff, so the family had to inform the care staff the first 5 days what my loved one needed until all staff had been briefed. My loved one was never on the correct diet the entire 6 weeks because doctor's orders were not communicated. I called repeatedly to pay bills, leaving messages weekly and waiting days for a return call. After my loved one passed away, they didn't send a final bill for 3 weeks and sent the account to collections prior to 30 days.
