Visited the hospital and enjoyed the time with the veterans and the staff of the 3rd floor.
Only follow guidelines of when to show up only if you like sitting around waiting for 2-3+ hours for your appointment
This facility can be a mixed bag. My spouse and I have had fantastic experiences with staff that truly care. On the other hand things can slip through the cracks, especially with community care authorizations. If you’re unfortunate enough to require care in the community expect a minimum of 1-2 months of waiting. If you need additional appointments expect another 1-2 months of waiting. If you call community care for an update expect nothing but to leave a voicemail and have it disappear into a blackhole of bureaucracy. In a nutshell, if you’re lucky enough to get all of your appointments in…

This VA location is great. The staff is awesome and many times you are dealing with Vanderbilt doctors. Some of the best in the world.
People who live in the Nashville area are very fortunate to have one of the best VA hospitals in the country in their backyard. I travel Nationwide, and tvhs is the best VA hospital I've ever been to
As a Veteran I like the variety of services. My last trip was for an ECHOCARDIOGRAM & they found some leaking from my heart valve (I had surgery 4 years ago). They keep a close watch on it/me.
They have definitely been on a positive trajectory in the last few years in terms of customer service, quality of care and patient satisfaction. The technology is there, as well as the renovations.
My family member was an In Patient. As a VERY experienced healthcare professional, I know the importance of being "hands on" help with The Healthcare Team. At VA-Nashville, the Dr's were sooo thorough!! They took "every exam from A-Z". There was NO Definitive diagnosis. The Nursing Staff: I'd feel more comfortable seeing Nurses that are Proactive in Anticipating care needed & potential outcome(example: if I have a patient that hasn't eaten in several days, I'M gonna notify the Dr for an alternative(Not wait 4 him 2 just "happen upon it"). If the pt is receiving a Cardiac work-up, make sure the Tele monitor stays on ALL times. Assist pt to complete bed exercise, repositioning to maintain flexibility, prevent skin breakdown, promote speedy healing & decrease muscle loss). As a Fellow healthcare professional, I'm well aware of the overwhelming challenges WE face(short staffing, increase work load, Dichotomy of balancing work & home). "Jenn"RN from 2N, working Night Shift was OUTSTANDING!! She CAME IN with a smile, motivating words & demeanor. She prepared meds & treatment in a "time efficient manner". She completed physical assessments on each visit. She re-evaluated the effectiveness of each action. She educated pt on the treatment plan & "what to expect". Healthcare requires 95% commitment to "The Betterment of the patient AND their family" for those 8-12 hours. THAT characteristics is a Trait WE'RE born with(it's not obtained via a book or classroom......U really have to be in it for the patient). I'm soooo sorry there are few "After hour " Physician's available to respond on site, in a timely manner. It seems after 3pm.....It's a "Ghost town". Please accept my feedback as CONSTRUCTIVE.
