My mom is a resident there. Really pleased with it so far
That place was bad. Caregivers were in the car smoking, and on phone. No one was with patients at 9:00 at night.
Southern Heritage Assisted Living doesn't offer any services of any kind, and the utilities are not included in the price. I like that they have a washer and dryer and that it's a little bit larger than the other place. It was clean and very nice. They don't provide any food though.
We toured Southern Heritage Assisted Living. It was probably my least favorite of all that I visited because it was just kind of out of style. It didn't have a lot of privacy. If you wanted to live in a crowd of people, I guess it would be good, but I kind of felt it was too crowded. The facilities were very small. They were outdated. The staff was nice.
My friend moved in. It's not big. There might be 20-something rooms or more. And, they sit out on the porch and talk and she seems to be happy there. They're just one room and they're not big. They have a TV, a stove and a microwave in them. They played bingo and they did puzzles.
I toured Southern Heritage. The grounds were very nice and pretty. The staff was very accommodating. We found nothing that we would consider a negative. The room they showed was a studio apartment. They had a common area, a TV room, and very pleasant-looking outside grounds. Everything was in good condition. It was not a brand new facility but it was well-maintained. Everything was clean, neat, and very inviting.
My mom, as well as my sister & I, were extremely happy with Southern Heritage. They had new activities planned daily & were good about encouraging Mom to participate. The staff was always available to assist or answer questions. Laurie became the new Administrator during Mom's stay. She was also one of the nurses there so did the job of both & was so sweet & kind to everyone. Mom was very happy with the meals and loved participating in activities. I wish we had moved her there sooner. We are so thankful to A Place for Mom for their assistance in finding a location closer to me for our mother.
I just like everything about it. Plus, the lady who took me on the tour was just super. I thought the building was really nice and really good. They showed me one room with a bath and a nice little closet. Just about everything that I need will be there, and even the bus line. There's a bus line when I have to go out. The people who already lived there were like in the dining room, and they told me that all the time they were always doing something. They told me a lot of things that go on. There's bingo, and just being able to be around somebody and go sit on the porch, things like that. They do great. The staff who gave the tour was really nice and really good.
