It was wonderful, very clean and everyone so polite and gracious. Thank you

My mother lived here for 5 years. She received excellent care. Everyone was caring and would go out of their way to help.

Unfortunately, this facility is trending down in terms of cleanliness and quality of food. They have a hard time retaining staff and with turnover comes poor service. On a facility tour, they are all smiles but reality is far different. The residents seem to come last on their priority list. My mom lived there for a long time but we finally moved her when rent kept going up but service continued to go down. When mom first moved there, it always smelled so nice and the floors were vacuumed. That changed when a new administrator came in and turnover increased. Another recent review said that…

My mom lived there for a long time but we finally moved her when rent kept going up but service continued to go down. When mom first moved there, it always smelled so nice and the floors were vacuumed. That changed when a new administrator came in and turnover increased. Another recent review said that most of the residents appear to require skilled care from a nursing home and I agree. That makes it difficult for the staff to provide adequate care and also difficult for residents who are looking for peer conversation and daily activities vs memory care patients. I wish the Somerville/Oakland area had another option. We had to go to Collierville but we are making it work.

98% of residents are not able to walk on their own. I thought this was a senior residence., but there are quite a few that should be in a nursing facility. The food is terrible. More like what you would see in a kindergarten school. The portions are about the size for a kindergarten child, not an adult. Better keep food in your room. Hope you like velvetta. cheese-it is put on everything. The kitchen staff needs an overhaul. The parlor is useless for visitors because it is always filled with wheelchairs with sleeping occupants. Be careful when voicing concerns and there tends to be retaliating consequences from some.

We chose Someroak Senior Living for my mother. We've visited a couple of others, but the prices and the care in this one just fit. It was clean and well-kept, and there were no deceptions about the prices. It was very clear with regard to the cost of the apartments, and very clear about the levels of care. It was $200 for each level, whereas in another place, it was $600 for each level. The staff members were accessible, they were engaged with the residents. The space in the facility was well-kept, and the rooms were arranged well, we were impressed with that. They had one 1-bedrooms with screened-in porches, which is nice for my mother who likes the outdoors.

My dad is in SomerOak in Somerville, and it's very nice. I really like it. He gets really good care there. The staff is just excellent, the nurses, and all the workers there are topnotch. They have bingo and arts and crafts. They have a Wii game that my dad loves to do, and they have exercises. They also take trips to Walmart. He's got a nice apartment there. It's very clean.

Beautiful facility and loved the location. [Removed] was very helpful and showed us several apartments occupied by residents which was actually nice. This showed us that she knew her residents well and they really trusted her. One took the time to tell us how happy she was here which made us very happy to hear. This is one at the top of our list.

Excellent living conditions, friendly and professional staff, lots of activities for the residents and very good food. My mother loves living here!
