If I could do it all over, I never would have put my Aunt in this place!!! You trust they do things in her best interest and care for her like they would want their family cared for. However, a few months ago they took Jane’s best friend out of her room when the roommate had to go to the hospital. Knowing she would be returning they placed someone else with Jane. The roommate truly loved Jane and Jane her! They watched tv together and she would talk to Jane to show her some attention. Now there is a social worker named Dakota that is doing all she can to keep them from being together! She flat out told me she was not going to put them back together! Jane’s sisters went to see her about 3 weeks ago and when I talked to one of them she said it was all she could do to not cry seeing how lonely Jane looked and how she was all slumped down in her bed. Reason being Dakota is trying to keep them apart, no matter the reason they are trying to give, is the fact that the roommate watched over Jane and would let me know about staff stealing her toiletries and using on themselves or other patients. She also would let me know when Jane was left in bed all day or if someone was too rough with her when changing her. I also knew when she wasn’t feed her meals. She has dementia and doesn’t communicate well to be able to tell me these things herself. Now she has a roommate that can’t either! It is so sad that someone who worked all her life and has the sweetest soul can’t live her last days with someone she has come to love and accept as family! It’s also sad that I put my trust in them to give her the best for the rest of her life and when I speak up for her they want to shut it down because they feel they know best! I have known her my entire life and I know she is miserable now and it is absolutely HEARTBREAKING!!!!! Therefore, think twice before considering placing someone you love here!!!
