This place should be under investigation. I have never been more appauld by a facility. My grandmother was here in the rehab for a weekend, in that time a nurse stole from her drawer, they REPEATEDLY didnt give her her meds (and when they finally did they would just give them ALL at once! Im talking two or more doses!) Once she was left in the bathroom and forgotten. She made it back to the bed herself because she was tired of waiting. Wanting to add that her roommate was extremely drugged up her entire stay. So weird that the roomate gets meds but not her. Also when asked about meds, they…
This place should be under investigation. Also when asked about meds, they said she didnt have any that morning, she did cause a family member was there and asked for them for her, but when questioned they looked at a paper and said "oh she did it just wasn't logged." This is beyond negligence. This place only has good reviews because the people are either comatose and cant tell their story, dont have relatives that really check on them, or dead. I find it also horrid that the head nurse would say "what can we do to get you to stay" why? So you can make her kick the bucket? She also promised she would make sure she got her morning meds. Guess what, she didnt. Coincidence (I think not), my great aunt went here after an ER visit. She stayed and got worse. She left and died shortly after. They claimed she didnt have any prescription sent over for antibiotics. The infection took her. I find it odd that not only did they skip, forget, or didnt bother with my grandmother's meds but her sister had the same happen. If you have been around and remember a few life care facilities having banners hanging outside saying people were dying there, you more than likely wouldn't choose any of them at all. I wasn't aware of the name of the facility until it was too late, and as soon as I told my spouse he yelled "no!" Very dramatically. He told me back when he was a nurse life care was always the one being under investigation, always having deaths, more than normal. These places prey on the elderly, especially if they are not in the right mind. Case in point, if you value your loved one, dont send them to ANY LIFE CARE!
Life Care Center of Ooltewah is an amazing facility with courteous and professional care givers. The place is always clean and odor free. I would definitely recomend this facility to anyone who has a loved one that needs Hospice Care.
So far so good! The staff is great and attentive and responds to our requests. Dads only been there a few days and will review more once therapy begins. Very pretty and clean facility! Love nurse Regina!!
We are so thankful for the staff at Ooltewah LifeCare. From the moment we arrived from the hospital, the nurse, Josh, knew all about feeding tubes and blocked bowels that my husband presented with and our family felt so relieved. My husband had physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy and one outshone the other. Each nurse, CNA, each worker we met was an expert in their field and so very kind to my husband. We were told at the hospital that my husband might never be able to swallow again and may need to be fed through the tube the surgeon placed in his stomach for the rest of his life. Erin, the speech therapist told us her goal was to train my husband to swallow through a list of exercises and gradually returning to a regular diet. Today my husband is going home with a feeding tube that will be removed when our gastro dr agrees. Last night was his final tube feeding! He can walk with his walker, dress himself, handle his bathroom needs, and return home to our family. We are praising God for the excellent care he received at this LifeCare. And the daily ice cream served every day was so appreciated and enjoyed by me, his caregiver! Thankfully, the last full day here, his speech therapist said it was safe to enjoy ice cream with me!
This place is far from what it looks on the outside. Call lights go unanswered for hours. I was unfortunate and had to have my mother say two times. The first time she was on a hall called springs. There was feces on her wall in the restroom and in her room. Patient care was bare minium and she never got her shower. Her room was always left a mess. When she was given a shower, her dirty clothing were thrown on her bathroom floor. I had to come several times and clean up her room after I got off work at 4:00 pm. The second time my mother was placed on the 100 hall. They had promised a better experience for her. She received her shower once in a months period while there. They even skipped her for lunch one day and she did not get a meal tray. The therapy services she received were not according to the care plan. She ended up with lice in her hair and I found a collection of diapers in her room that had feces all in them. She was not taken to the restroom and was able to walk with help. Please do not take your family member here. I cry all the time because this is not the experience you would expect for your loves one.
Taking care of others is a privilege; demonstrating love and kindness towards loved ones is an elevated level of care. Continue your efforts.
My mom Ruth Wesson (Ooltewah TN) received kind, professional transportation to the visitation for her youngest son’s funeral today (8/23/25). Driver Keith worked with Ruth’s family to arrange timely transport for this difficult day. Mom was very comforted by Keith’s help. The Wesson family is very grateful.
Excellent as always. Compassionate reliable and competent care.
