The facility does not have landlines phones. There is one wall phone on the floor to be used. You cannot talk to your loved one unless they have a cell phone. Good luck waiting for a call assist. They are under staffed and don't answer the phone at the nursing station on the 3rd floor. The admission director did not mention no landlines service. Also the nurses are unavailable to give updates on your loved one. This has been my experience. No contact with family unless you visit in person. This is not exceptable.
If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be cared for by people who love what they do, I highly recommend Heartland. The staff truly feels like a family, and they work together seamlessly to create a safe and supportive atmosphere.
I recently visited a friend at NHC Heartland and was genuinely impressed with the facility. The place is exceptionally clean—huge shout-out to the housekeeping department for keeping everything spotless and well-maintained. The nursing staff also deserves praise; my friend looks well cared for and comfortable, which says a lot about the quality of care provided. Everyone I interacted with was kind and professional, making the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. Even the receptionist was present and friendly on the weekend, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, I left with a great impression…

Checked my dad in on February 14 2025. He died on February 16 2025. This facility never called to give condolences but they sent a bill though, two weeks later but we were told he would be covered for six months. Went to pick up his belongings and the room smelled like old man pee. If you are expecting your loves ones to get better do not send them here. My dad's second day here he died.
We have dropped off our Aunt for care that we are unable to do anymore. So far the care has been excellent.
This is really a very nice place! I don't know where this little bit of bad mouthing is coming from. The Staff takes good care of me and I have about a half dozen things wrong with me. The food is like home cooked style and the rooms are very clean. I,d recommend this facility to anyone in need of health care. Thank You.
In the time that I was there, four people stood out. Number one was Maria she had worked there the longest I think. She is a. She cared for me as if I were a relative. She is a very caring and thoughtful person. I wish there would be some that she could be given some form of appreciating for making you look so good. You need to start rewarding these people. Another one was Tiff.. There are two Tiffs. She’s the black nurse. Wonderful person, wonderful bedside manner works harder than I can imagine balancing her home life and the patients there. When I first arrived there, I met Nika. She was a ray of sunshine, always smiling, and always laughing during up the patients. I could hear her all the way down the hall, and it would bring a smile to my face. I had to leave suddenly and didn’t get a chance to thank them, but I will always remember. Please reward the good people Maria is overdue for a raise big time tempted to give it to her myself. This does not work as a testimonial. Too bad.
Heartland Nursing home did an excellent job caring for my mother the past several years. She landed there halfway thru the pandemic, so I can touched by how considerate & communicative they were. they were so kind to bring an iPad around so we could zoom with our mom weekly. I later learned, the staff even had a nickname for her, ‘Smiley.’ My interactions with the staff were always professional, and they went out of their way to accommodate mom when she got sick toward the end of her time there. Watching them parade into her room to say goodbye was so touching. I’ll Never forget these nurses and techs. If you are looking for a place that feels like family, this could be the place for you.
