(One star, only for the daily activity/"group therapy" persons and also for some kind staff as well). Horrific experience after I voluntarily admitted myself from UTH (another form of hell). I didn't get to speak to a single therapist for my entire stay. I was told for a week straight that my clothing request was pending. They did not have my seizure medication on hand, and if my husband hadn't brought it in and demanded that the nurse come to retrieve it from him personally because of immediate distrust because of other lost items... I would've had ANOTHER brain injury without my medication,…

I would've had ANOTHER brain injury without my medication, or I would've died. They put me on medication that I was not aware of and were not to be taken with my current epilepsy medications. Staff were too busy and understaffed to be able to help everyone most of the time. Co-ed facility for an abuse survivor is THE WORST AND DOES NOT HELP TO CALM YOU DOWN WHILE YOU ARE BEING HARASSED/STALKED BY OTHER PATIENTS (MALE PATIENTS OF COURSE) AT ALL TIMES. they expect you to participate even when you feel unsafe wearing paper scrubs-oh and witnessing a female staff member get attacked by an unpredictable male patient on the way back from the cafeteria. That patient was not moved to a different location after the attack, so everyone was on edge and I started refusing to participate.. There's only one day a week that you can have visitation, and there's only one phone to wait in line for in the facility. The plumbing was horrendous. Only one out of four water fountains worked and one flooded the floor next to the staff center.. my sink in my bathroom was leaking into a huge puddle that I almost fell on. The drain was so clogged so I showered in a puddle of filth. You have to ask staff anytime you want a hairbrush or to brush your teeth... Oh the list goes on. The next time I feel like I need help, I would rather just not ask for help if this is where I would end up next time around. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE DISABLED WITH SERIOUS HEALTH CONCERNS AND MEDICATIONS THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN EVERY DAY. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU'RE A FEMALE WITH ANY PAST MALE ABUSE!!! THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR ANYONE WITH C-PTSD/PTSD OR ANY SERIOUS HEALTH CONDITIONS!!!!!

My grandaughter has been there 5 nights...not allowed to get more than ONE tiny cup before bed, and locked in the room...per ONE night nurse, who threatened her with 10 day stay instead of 5. And the "DR" has yet to speak to me, her Conservator! Despicable! She will NEVER go back to that place...treated like criminals!!

if you or a loved one are thinking about coming here… DON’T. this is a place where people are supposed to go to get better and feel safe. My mom was a patient there for 2 weeks. Within those 2 weeks my mom got sexually assaulted and the nurses did nothing about it. the man that did that remained in the room right across from her. He would also lay in his bed naked for everybody to see and again the nurses did nothing. The nurses will treat you like a dog and act as if they hate their job, they do not give a shit about you and are very disrespectful to the patients there. My mom was calling me…

My mom was calling me crying, saying how she wanted to come home every night. This was a place she was supposed to get better and feel safe instead it was the complete opposite. That was her experience in Adult 1 at this facility. If you seeking help please seek it somewhere else because this is one of the worst ones you can go to and you will absolutely not get the help you need.

I chose to write a review because of the way the reviews terrified me before going to this facility. If I can be one more positive review to reassure another scared, broken person reading then great. My experience at KCBM has already proven to be a positive and beneficial experience and I’ve been home less than a week. I won’t discredit those who claim to have had such bad experiences here, but I saw the kind of people there that are leaving those reviews. If you treat staff and other patients with respect and PATIENCE, then the only negative experience you’ll have is bland hospital food, loss of your daily comforts, and maybe witness another patient having a much more difficult time than you. But we’re all there to get help. And every single member of the staff was genuinely so kind, caring, and an overall comfort. They do their best to try and make your current situation feel ok. Julia, T.K., and Justin are sweethearts. Trinity is fun to be around. And Winston’s cool. Bonus, there’s Diet Coke in the cafeteria.

i would not recommend this place at all. i went here a couple years ago due to ocd and psychosis and it was honestly the worst experience of my life. the staff had no idea what they were doing. i was given the wrong medicine and once i tried to explain it to the male nurse he accused me of lying and proceeded to give me MORE meds which led to me being sick the whole night (more than likely the beginning symptoms of serotonin syndrome). i was given way to much trazodone the night before and ended up fainting in the hall bc my blood pressure was way to low and was left there for idk how long because no one was at the front desk or watching the cameras. despite being on my best behavior, i was treated like a prisoner and talked to like i was nothing by some of the staff. i mentally did not start healing until i was back home and surrounded by family that actually cared about me.

I was here for 3 weeks I was really not feeling well I tried to tell the provider that the meds were not working they just didn’t care

Perfectly professional psychiatric hospital. From intake to discharge, all went well & my life was saved (again) by the kind hearts that work there. Thank you 🫶💯🫶

I was referred to Dr. Joseph Jadav by my therapist, who sent me there because he himself could not write prescriptions. In my 37 years of seeing doctors, I have never felt more judged or interrogated in a way that insinuated doubts of my intentions of being there. After Joseph asked me a list of personal questions, I was getting emotionally upset and I apologized to him and told him “I am sorry for being emotional, sometimes I just need to vent” and he told me verbatim “Do not vent to me, because I am not your therapist.” I’ve never had a doctor be so incredibly insensitive and show a total lack of compassion and disregard to their patient. I wouldn’t let this man treat my dog, let alone another human being that is looking for help.
