My parents and their friends were so happy here. Great caring staff and a great living experience and amenities! THE senior living community in Nashville!
We have lived at Blakeford for 2 1/2 years. It was the best decision we have ever made regarding a move. We are busy with wonderful activities that keep our minds and bodies active. The staff and residents are friendly and helpful. People accept differing viewpoints and preferences. There are no cliques and closed groups. We are very glad that we chose Blakeford.
This is my 6th year living at Blakeford, and I continue to love my "new" home. There have been so many unexpected perks. The place is full of interesting people who have lead interesting lives, and Blakeford provides a variety of social occasions in which to get to know them. My apartment is lovely and full of the things I brought from my house. I feel totally safe and cared for. We have a state-of-the-art swimming pool with two treadmills in it (really!), and I love my morning water aerobics class; the fitness facility and options provided there are excellent. The staff is unfailingly cheerful and helpful, and wonderfully responsive to our requests. Shortly after moving here, a small group of us residents formed the Green Committee. At our urging, Blakeford's management has initiated extensive eco-friendly initiatives, including recycling and composting programs. I also love the fact that no matter what challenges I face as I continue to age, there's a continuum of care available here, starting with transportation services to medical appointments when I can no longer drive all the way to an in-patient memory care facility. Blakeford is simply a great place to live.
My mother was at Woodcrest at Blakeford’s rehab-to-home program for post-acute care in January 2026, and the care she received was truly exceptional. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I was there at all hours, mornings and evenings, weekdays and weekends, across multiple shifts, and I can say with complete confidence that every single person who interacted with my mother provided outstanding care. That kind of consistency is rare, and it meant everything to our family. Her physical and occupational therapists were knowledgeable, encouraging, and deeply invested in her progress. She also benefited from speech therapy, which was handled with the same level of skill and attentiveness. Her meals were fresh, appealing, and well balanced, which supported her recovery in a very real way. The nurses and CNAs who cared for her were extraordinary. They treated her with genuine kindness, patience, and respect, and it was clear that they saw her as a person, not just a patient. I will always be grateful for the compassion they showed her every single day. The nurse practitioner was professional, knowledgeable, and approachable, and maintained a strong presence on the floor. Her social worker was equally wonderful, friendly, responsive, and truly supportive throughout the process. This was a place where care was not just competent, but deeply human. I am profoundly thankful for the role Woodcrest at Blakeford played in my mother’s recovery.
Blakeford has felt like home from the beginning. It truly feels like family from my neighbors to our staff. It is everything we hoped for and more. So many things to do and so much laughter! We are blessed to grow older here!
My husband and I have been residents of the Blakeford for one and a half years and it has been wonderful. The way the dining room is set up makes it easy to meet people, make friends and socialize. The activities are numerous with something for everyone. The exercise facilities and the pool are state of the art. The location of the Blakeford is ideal - it’s close to everything you might need(drug stores, grocery stores, mall). In addition, a beautiful neighborhood around the Blakeford provides a wonderful place to walk. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and is a big part of making this place so special.
The staff wont return calls. I've called for several weeks and left messages (they dont answer the phone) asking to speak with the administrator, social workers, nurses, etc. In order to speak to a live person I have to take off work to go up there during the day. I just want to know updates on my loved one, but I guess that's too much to ask.
Blakeford At Greenhills, Nashville My wife and I moved to Blakeford in May 2023, just before the new West Tower opened in July 2023. At the same time the existing North and South Towers were updated with carpeting, lighting and paint. What a great transformation. All the common areas are new. Amities include three restaurants, indoor pool, a state of the art fitness center (with three full time staff members) and a group fitness studio for many fitness classes. There are many club activities; art, bridge, canasta, rummy cube, Mexican train, mahjong, history club plus more. Every Tuesday there is a happy hour with food and live entertainment provided by Blakeford and one Sunday a month we have a Social Hour 5p to 6p where new residents mingle and meet current residents. You need to visit Blakeford and take a tour. Make sure you see Vista, the 7th floor party room and outdoor patio - - it has a view no other senior communities have. Mary and I have been asked why we chose Blakeford, and not one of the other senior living communities nearby. Most don't have Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing/Memory Care on one campus. But the final reason was when we met some of the residents of Blakeford. The residents and staff members are the best July 2025 Update: We have lived at Blakeford for 2+ years. Friends and possible new residents ask - how is the food? I will say 4 star, occasionally 3 stars. The service staff get 5 stars. In addition to the normal menu, we have a Daily Dinner Special and a Daily Catch of the Day. During the summer, there is Friday BBQ and Happy Hour on the Fireflies patio. Here are some of the meals Mary and I enjoy
