Azalea Court Senior Living

We were looking for an extended care/assisted living facility for my brother and spent some really valuable time with the director of this facility. She took us on a complete tour of the facility and we were really impressed with every aspect of the place from the staff to the dining facilities (including a private dining area where a family could dine alone). EVERY detail from even having residents determine what outings to go on- they had just gone to Goodwill (bet the gals wanted that one) to the mens group that meets, has a putting green, etc. Outdoor areas where residents can have small gardens, visit with the nieghborhood critters (such as the cat that greeted us on the patio). Meticulous attention to details that make life worth living. Everyone from residents to staff seemed very friendly. I am a very picky retired internal medicine doctor and if I needed a facility like this, THIS is the one I would pick. My husband's mother is in Hendersonville in assisted living and I absolutely guarantee you that the facility she is in can NOT hold a candle to what we witnessed today. Great quality and every need imagined.

While it's still early, this ALF is meeting all expectations while caring for the elderly. This facility doesn't have more than 26 residents so it allows for a small, compassionate environment in which the workers are able to actually take care of the residents. Only time will tell if the treatment remains the same. But considering the 12+ years of research I put into ALFs in the area, this is one of the better ones. Remember if the facility has a "Sales Director" or an invisible Executive Director (The Rutherford), the primary goal is money not care

My tour to Azalea Court was interesting. I was excited about my grandmother going there but they said they're not going to accept her because she needs skilled nursing. They had a studio and it was clean and acceptable. They showed me an example of a shared room, but they didn't have a shared room available. They had an expensive studio room available that was clean. It was presentable and acceptable. The dining area was nice, clean, and also presentable.

My family did not like it at this facility but meant some great friends there. The turnover was so high and resident personal items came up missing.
