I had put one review up already but they made a fuss and got better. They’ve gotten SUBSTANTIALLY worse. Both of my grandparents are in the nursing home. I do not have the space to care for them in my home, plus I work full time. My grandmother has dementia and has a lot of issues around forgetting we’ve visited her or she’s eaten or taken medication. She gets very upset and will have panic attacks. One day 2 weeks ago she was taken to the ER for chest pain. She was tested and found ok to leave but was left there all day because there was no ambulances and no one from the nursing home…
She was tested and found ok to leave but was left there all day because there was no ambulances and no one from the nursing home coordinated for her to go back. She was there over 6 hours. She has fallen twice, both leaving huge bruises on her head and neck. She is not to have access to a phone because when she calls it only upsets her and my mom: she will call saying things like she will walk out of the building and doesn’t care if she’s ran over. Very self harming. Today a nurse let her call my mom. My mom has been very sick and unable to walk for two weeks. We were told as the disease progresses they would change her medication. They have yet to do this. They’re now saying we have to wait for her to harm herself or something of the sort. Why should she be left to suffer? Next, my grandpa. They will absolutely let him get septic before doing anything about his UTI’s. He gets them frequently because he’s unable to walk. This last one he looked pitiful. One of my visits, his roommate almost rolled out of his bed. My grandfather pressed the nurse button and no one came. I walked out to find one and the halls were empty. 4 other room lights were lit. I hate to say anything bc I ADORE the CNAs who provide most of the care to my grandparents. The daytime CNAs are precious people who truly care. The nighttime CNAs, I feel, get frustrated. But they are substantially understaffed and the ones above them are making their lives, my grandparents’ lives, and my family’s life worse. It’s incredibly hard to speak with anyone in a position of leadership regarding their care because they’re never there or when you do get them, they’re curt and dismissive. I put them in the care of this nursing home with the expectation they would give them the care they deserve.
My 99 year young mother was a resident there. Every employee there called her granny or mamaw. She loved everyone there and joked around with them. Kept everyone laughing. They were so so kind and caring. Had her upmost care everyday. Very special employees there and I would think hand picked. Best place ever for your loved one.
A clean, well-run skilled nursing facility with caring staff and excellent therapy. Professional, organized, and highly recommended.
Great facility, the staff really care about their residents and each other!
My Dad came here for hospice and the staff was incredibly attentive and kind to him and to me while I stayed with him most of the time for the last 5 days. For these people, it's a calling not just a job.
5 star rated facility by CMS and you can tell. Nursing staff is incredible and caring. I love visiting this facility. They truly care for the community.
A relative by marriage is a resident of this nursing home and I visit them there occasionally. The lack of care and attention not only to them but to other residents, is obvious each visit. The room as well as the resident, their hair, clothing and bedding are always dirty. Call lights going off go unanswered, even with staff members standing nearby. On my most recent visit there was a bedbound person laying with no covers on them and wearing only a hospital gown that was almost exposing them with their bed right next to the open hall door for all to see. Their room was also directly across from the nurse's station where the staff couldn't help but see them yet never made the effort to cover them. I did, after one visit some months ago, inform the spouse of the resident I visit, how dirty and unkempt their family mber was, but nothing ever improved so I concluded that there was no point in bringing the subject up again because I personally have no authority regarding their care. I would advise anyone who is considering putting a loved one in this nursing home to visit unannounced several times and roam the halls and take notice of your observations. The reality of it does not look like the online photos. There is no such thing as a "good" nursing home, but there are degrees of neglect and indifference. It is my observation that this one is unacceptable.
My sister, Peggy, is in AHC-Savannah and I am so wonderfully pleased with the care she is receiving. The entire staff and one of her nurses, Ms. Lisa, one of her CNA's, and all the ones caring for her daily that I am not mentioning, I just want to say thank you for your loving care she is receiving. I will forever be grateful to each one of you. Thank you!!
