We moved our 96-year-old Aunt from a facility in Owensboro, Ky., to AHC. She had a bad fall during the summer and could no longer take care of herself, so we decided to move her to Knoxville. The admissions staff did a great job of explaining the process and coordinating the paperwork. We loaded her in our car and drove her to AHC, Knoxville. Our check-in was very smooth and her room was ready immediately. AHC has private rooms which was important to us. We visited daily and she was well taken care of. The nursing staff was very kind and caring. I highly recommend this facility.
I have been placed on a "Do Not Return" list by this facility, despite never having visited the premises or worked in that area. This situation raises concerns regarding the facility's practices. I have not visited the Clarksville facility in several years since I reported concerns regarding COVID-19 within the building and the departure of their Director of Nursing. Given these circumstances, I am uncertain why the facility would anticipate my return to the site.
DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. My grandfather was sent here after a lengthy hospital stay. His meds to stave off edema were neglected, and he was not properly rotated in bed. This resulted in a major edema flare up and a huge bedsore that was left untreated. He was back home for a whopping 2 1/2 days before being assessed by a home nurse who recommended returning to the hospital. He has now been admitted to his second hospital stay to have these issues treated. Lack of knowledgeable staff and no on-site doctor have had terrible consequences for my grandfather.
I have a parent here, and I would NOT recommend Shannondale. I am currently trying to get out of this place, but it's not easy to transfer facilities. Shannondale is ALWAYS short staffed. Half the caregivers are Agency workers, meaning they are totally unfamiliar with the facility and its residents. Response times for Help Calls routinely exceed 1 hour, sometimes 2 hours. The most consistent thing I've experienced is the ever-present smell of feces. I've often overheard caregivers complain about doing their job. My parent says moving to Shannondale has been the worst decision of their life. Avoid this place at all costs
Mom almost died while in their care!!! Always short staffed! Will never go back there!
My mom has been at Shannondale Nursing Home for 2 years. They have always been kind and caring toward her. She loves all the workers. We could not have asked for better care. It is very clean. Highly recommend.
Providing wonderful care ...in a transitional community setting The mgt and staff are very accommodating to the residents and families
Clean caring place
